EXCELLENT Based on 309 reviews Posted on GoogleJohn DechertTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Always willing to help our dog with all his needs. The very best!Posted on GoogleTM SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Boarded my dog for the first time ever and was definitely nervous since I’d never left him with anyone before. The staff was so kind, patient, and reassuring, and explained everything which really put me at ease. I also tried daycare for the first time, and he came home happy and seemed like he had a great time! Finished his stay with a full groom, which was his second time getting groomed there, and they did a great job as always. Great staff, great service, and I highly recommend!Posted on GoogleLeilaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I discovered K9s Place by Google searching dog daycares in the Melbourne area as, I was traveling with my dog, Syrah, for the first time for over a week and knew she’d need a place to stay during times I couldn’t take her with me. K9s Place had the most impressive, detailed website it was an easy choice…as long as they lived up to what their website described…THEY DID! Arranging an assessment appt and reserving daycare day was super easy. Although, for the 2 weeks prior, I was so worried she wouldn’t pass her assessment, lol. My dog is a 9 yr old Tibetan Terrier who often can behaves like an out of control, hyperactive puppy plus, she has separation anxiety and had never been to daycare. Not only the owners but everyone at K9s Place welcomed her as soon as we walked in. Syrah passed Trevor’s assessment and she spent 4 days at daycare; each day eager to get inside and upon picking her up, she was ready for an afternoon nap during the daily thunderstorms before we went to dinner. We were also able to fit in a personal training session with Brendon and Chelsea who were very patient and offered both Syrah and I clear directions and guidance on achieving positive results with her general behavior and learning to control her impulses. Syrah has come home like a (somewhat) calm, new dog. She waits for my instruction, sits as calm as she can, when greeting people, walks with and near me on the leash, doesn’t bark her head off at the Amazon driver and it’s like I brought home a much more chill, happy dog. We learned in one hour more take-aways than we have in the 3 different training courses during her first 2 years that were taught through a vet, pet store and other dog trainer for a whole lot more expense. Another thing that stood out to me is each person working at K9s Place was there because they enjoyed being around the dogs and doing what they do. Good vibes, happy dogs. I highly recommend K9s Place for both daycare and training and wish they were near our home south of Seattle.Posted on GoogleMike and Sandy BoeshaarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It taught us how to handle him when he gets out of control and he is just the perfect pet now that we know what we're doing. So thank you so much for helping us. They are great with my dog!Posted on GoogleJaime ShawTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am incredibly impressed with the 2 week board and train program. I went from not being able to keep control of my dog when out for walks to having full control on walks of my respectful and well mannered dog on day one out of training. I look forward now to his full participation in our families activities because we now have the tools and confidence to bring him out. The board and train program has completely exceeded my expectations! Thank you K9 Place!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Is Daycare Right for My Dog?
Finding the Right Fit for Group Play
Every dog is different, and group daycare isn’t the right environment for every dog. That’s why all dogs are required to complete an evaluation and daycare test before joining the K9s Place daycare program.
The evaluation gives our team an opportunity to learn more about your dog, their temperament, behavior, and comfort around other dogs. The daycare test allows us to see how your dog responds to the group environment and determine whether daycare is an appropriate fit.
Before joining daycare, dogs must:
- Complete an evaluation with K9s Place
- Complete a daycare test
- Be comfortable participating in a group environment
- Be able to interact appropriately with other dogs and our team
- Have no history of aggression
What if daycare isn’t the right fit?
Not every dog enjoys or is suited for group play, and that’s okay. During your evaluation, our team can discuss your dog’s needs with you and go over other options available at K9s Place.
More Than a Day Away
Want to Add Training to Their Routine?
Looking for more than a day of play? K9s Place also offers Day Training for owners who want their dog to spend the day working directly with our training team.
With Day Training, you drop your dog off in the morning and our trainers work with them throughout the day on skills based on the program and your training goals. You’ll pick them up later that day after a day focused on learning and practice.
Day Training is a separate training service from daycare and can be a great option for dogs who need more focused work on obedience, manners, or other training goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often will my dog join a playgroup?
Dogs typically participate in group play up to three times throughout the day. Our team monitors Florida’s heat, rain, and changing weather conditions and adjusts the location, timing, and length of play sessions as needed to keep dogs comfortable while still providing plenty of opportunities for activity and socialization.
How are daycare playgroups determined?
Groups are organized based on factors such as size and temperament. Our team gets to know the dogs in our daycare program and considers each dog when determining appropriate playgroups.
Does my dog need an evaluation before daycare?
Yes. Every dog must complete an evaluation and daycare test before participating in group daycare. This allows our team to learn more about your dog and see how they respond to the daycare environment before determining whether group play is an appropriate fit.
Can dogs with a history of aggression attend daycare?
No. Dogs with a history of aggression are not eligible to participate in group daycare. If your dog has behavioral concerns or you’re unsure whether daycare is appropriate, we can discuss other options during their evaluation.
What happens between playgroups?
Dogs have scheduled breaks between periods of group play, giving them an opportunity to rest, recharge, and have their own fresh water before returning to the group.
Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered?
Yes. Dogs over 6 months of age must be spayed or neutered to participate in group daycare at K9s Place. Puppies under 6 months may participate if they meet all other daycare requirements and successfully complete their evaluation and daycare test.
