Training your dog at home allows you to work on behavior where it matters most. Instead of practicing in a controlled facility, at-home dog training focuses on real-life situations inside your own environment.
Our trainers come directly to you, helping your dog learn how to behave in the spaces they interact with every day. This approach creates faster, more practical results because training happens where the behavior actually occurs.

EXCELLENT Based on 309 reviews Posted on GoogleJohn DechertTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Always willing to help our dog with all his needs. The very best!Posted on GoogleTM SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Boarded my dog for the first time ever and was definitely nervous since I’d never left him with anyone before. The staff was so kind, patient, and reassuring, and explained everything which really put me at ease. I also tried daycare for the first time, and he came home happy and seemed like he had a great time! Finished his stay with a full groom, which was his second time getting groomed there, and they did a great job as always. Great staff, great service, and I highly recommend!Posted on GoogleLeilaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I discovered K9s Place by Google searching dog daycares in the Melbourne area as, I was traveling with my dog, Syrah, for the first time for over a week and knew she’d need a place to stay during times I couldn’t take her with me. K9s Place had the most impressive, detailed website it was an easy choice…as long as they lived up to what their website described…THEY DID! Arranging an assessment appt and reserving daycare day was super easy. Although, for the 2 weeks prior, I was so worried she wouldn’t pass her assessment, lol. My dog is a 9 yr old Tibetan Terrier who often can behaves like an out of control, hyperactive puppy plus, she has separation anxiety and had never been to daycare. Not only the owners but everyone at K9s Place welcomed her as soon as we walked in. Syrah passed Trevor’s assessment and she spent 4 days at daycare; each day eager to get inside and upon picking her up, she was ready for an afternoon nap during the daily thunderstorms before we went to dinner. We were also able to fit in a personal training session with Brendon and Chelsea who were very patient and offered both Syrah and I clear directions and guidance on achieving positive results with her general behavior and learning to control her impulses. Syrah has come home like a (somewhat) calm, new dog. She waits for my instruction, sits as calm as she can, when greeting people, walks with and near me on the leash, doesn’t bark her head off at the Amazon driver and it’s like I brought home a much more chill, happy dog. We learned in one hour more take-aways than we have in the 3 different training courses during her first 2 years that were taught through a vet, pet store and other dog trainer for a whole lot more expense. Another thing that stood out to me is each person working at K9s Place was there because they enjoyed being around the dogs and doing what they do. Good vibes, happy dogs. I highly recommend K9s Place for both daycare and training and wish they were near our home south of Seattle.Posted on GoogleMike and Sandy BoeshaarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It taught us how to handle him when he gets out of control and he is just the perfect pet now that we know what we're doing. So thank you so much for helping us. This was a great investment in our dog's future. Cheers!Posted on GoogleBethany WilliamsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They are great with my dog!Posted on GoogleJaime ShawTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am incredibly impressed with the 2 week board and train program. I went from not being able to keep control of my dog when out for walks to having full control on walks of my respectful and well mannered dog on day one out of training. I look forward now to his full participation in our families activities because we now have the tools and confidence to bring him out. The board and train program has completely exceeded my expectations! Thank you K9 Place!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Personalized Training in Your Dog’s Environment
Every home is different, and so is every dog. At-home training allows us to tailor each session to your specific layout, routines, and challenges.
Whether your dog struggles with behavior inside the house, reacts to visitors, or has difficulty listening in familiar environments, training at home helps address those issues directly. Unlike facility-based sessions, this approach eliminates the gap between training and real-life application.
For dogs that need more structure or faster progress, some clients choose to combine at-home sessions with more immersive programs like board and train.
What We Can Work On
At-home dog training is highly flexible and can be tailored to your specific goals. Common areas we focus on include:
- basic obedience (sit, down, stay, recall)
- leash behavior and pulling
- jumping on guests
- barking and impulse control
- crate training and house manners
For more advanced behavior concerns, such as reactivity or aggression, structured aggressive dog training may be recommended alongside or in place of in-home sessions.
Who At-Home Dog Training Is Best For
At-home training is a great fit for many dog owners, especially those who want to work on behavior in a familiar setting.
This option is ideal for:
- dogs that behave differently at home than in public
- owners who want hands-on guidance in their daily routine
- households dealing with specific in-home behavior issues
- busy schedules that make travel difficult
- families who want everyone involved in the training process
For dogs that benefit from socialization or working around distractions, group-based options like group dog training may also be a good complement.
